Moonlight Sonata Of Beethoven Blatz

This play was PRETTY COOL.

Tuesday night all of us CreCommers filled in the The Rachelle Browne Theatre to watch Armin Wiebe's play Moonlight Sonata Of Beethoven Blatz. I remember being tired, cranky and unwilling to experience the play. The thing that I find hardest to conquer while in CreComm is energy levels. We get to do all these things that are "pretty cool" -(Miley Cyrus voice) but I’m usually too exhausted to be excited about them. But once I sit there for a while and give my head a shake, I'm like damn this is wicked. If I wasn't sitting in this theatre learning Low German right now, I'd be at home watching the West Wing. So I got my mind right and then I really did enjoy the play. I've gone to my fair share of Fringe Fest plays, and radical feminist plays for various women studies classes but I would not call myself a regular play connoisseur. But I took what I could from it and enjoyed it.

Armin was a creative writing teacher at RRC before he retired and Karen took over. I suck at creative writing so I figured me and this Armin character wouldn't really get along. But he was interesting and engaging as he spoke to our class the following Thursday. He even grinned through all the sex scene questions. HUBBA HUBBA.

The play itself was an interesting story of marriage, betrayal, the desire to have children and some sort of lesbianism. This is a play that needed to be seen with other people in the audience. If it wasn't for the non CreCommers in the audience I wouldn't have known when to laugh and when to cry. I followed the cues from the audience on how to react to parts of the play that I did not understand.

And to the ladies who were whispering about college kids being late for everything, this is CreComm. I’m never late.

So there is a week left and then it's summer. I'll continue to blog throughout the summer if Chelsea will give me any attention! But this is my farewell CreComm post. (next week my blog will host a review of Armin Wiebe's new play) but for now BYE BYE BYE.

But ever since she started the blog she really found a place to channel her love for Chelsea Handler. It's amazing to see the way Lindsey lights up while blogging about her blonde leading lady. Peterson is traveling to Minneapolis to watch Chelsea Handler perform her stand up routine in June. This is the opportunity of a lifetime for Peterson to be able to meet Handler at this point. After all of Peterson's hard work, Chelsea Handler should reach out and pass the young girl (but not too young) a shot of smooth Belvidere vodka.

I WENT TO NELLY.

One time Chelsea Handler had Nelly on her program. He was one of my favourite guests because he was so witty and really got down to the nitty gritty about her and 50 cent.

On Tuesday I went to the Nelly concert. My friend and I traded off rap concerts. She came to Rick Ross with me so I ventured to Nelly with her. Did I have a good time? Yes. Was the concert itself good? No. Come on Nelly, all your promo campaigns leading up to the concert talked about how you've been in the business for 10 years.. Well I didn't hear 10 years worth of music. He barely played any song in its entirety. And most of the time he was missing on stage and his bros were left to entertain the audience. They were all old and weird. And I swear tops he was on stage for 40 minutes. And most of it was spent pretending he pulled girls out of the audience to booty shake but really it was ALL STAGED. Anyways I wasn't impressed. I'm so sorry Nelly.

I think your personality is great.

CHELSEA GETS ME.

These last two weeks have been long, exhausting and ugly. And I don't mean ugly like people fighting with one another.  I mean ugly as in I LOOK UGLY. So when I'm feeling stressed it's nice to turn to someone who truly understands me. People always say you know you're in love when you're able to sit with someone in silence without feeling awkward, because you're that close to them. 

 

I'm always sitting in silence with Chelsea. Well she's talking and I'm sitting in silence. CREEEEEEPY. But yeah, she's definitely a true love.

Anyways as I was wallowing in a pile of schoolwork with no response or acknowledgment from Chelsea I picked up her My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands. I knew I could turn to Chelsea to turn my dumpy two weeks into something shiny and pretty. As I scanned the pages I came across my favourite Chelsea moment from her book: 

"At some point during almost every romantic comedy, the female lead suddenly trips and falls, stumbling helplessly over something ridiculous like a leaf, and then some Matthew McConaughey type either whips around the corner just in the nick of time to save her or is clumsily pulled down along with her. I want to be the black man in Chelsea Handler’s life. If any of you watch her show then you know about her obsession with rappers. Just another similarity we share.

But she needs to put down the rappers and look my way. 

I mean, HEY GURL HEY….

I officially have tickets to go see Chelsea perform stand up live on June 4^th. SO this blog needs to become my number one priority. I have 3 months to convince Chelsea that she should let me backstage to take a shot of vodka with her. So I need your guys help what kind of stunts can I pull to get her attention?

That means you too Chelsea. Taylor Swift was nice enough to hug those two white bros.  So send me some tasks like she sent them and I’ll complete them…. (But I don’t want to do cheesy tasks like hugging strangers and helping older people. We both know blondes don’t do things like that.)
